Real Estate Marketing Online Guide
Forward a domain name to your listing website

You can forward your parked domain to your real estate listing' existing Web site, either at the MLS or to a Postlet online brochure or your real estate brokers website. When home buyers see your hard sign, mailing or postcards and go to the street address domain you forwarded, their Web browser automatically forwards them to the home for sale.

For example, you registered the street address domain name, 1234AnyStreet.com, and want home buyers who visit it to be redirected to your home for sale's existing website.

NOTE: You can only forward parked domains using this procedure, which we automatically park when you register them with us. If your domain isn't parked, you must update your A record through Total DNS. For more information about parking domains, see Setting Nameservers for Your Domain. For more information about updating A records, see Creating A Records.

To Forward a Domain
Log in to your Account Manager.
In the My Products section, click Domain Manager.
Use the checkbox(es) to select the domain name(s) you want to modify.
Click Forward.
Select Enable forwarding.
In the Forward to field, enter the URL to which you want to forward your domain name(s).
In the Redirect type area, select one of the following:
301 Moved Permanently
Redirects to the site you specified in the Forward To field using a "301 Moved Permanently" HTTP response. The HTTP 301 response code tells user-agents (including search engines) that the location has permanently moved.
302 Found (Temporary Redirect)
Redirects to the site you specified in the Forward To field using a "302 Found" HTTP response. The HTTP 302 response code tells user-agents (including search engines) that the location has temporarily moved.
Click OK.
NOTE: Forwarded domains can take up to 24 hours to become active.
